“Déjà Vu”: the feeling of having already experienced the present situation.

This was the theme of the June 2021 SHS Fashion Show, Deja View. These past two years have been anything but normal and many attributes of SHS haven’t been the same since. This includes the Fashion Show which is run every year by the Fashion and Textile Arts Club. All year the Fashion Club and Fashion Marketplace work hard to make that year's show better than the last. Even with the obstacles of this year, SHS was able to have their fashion show and the students of Fashion Marketplace were able to show off their hard work.

This Year’s Fashion Show Designers Included: Kaitlyn McCooey, Madison Cacace, Delia Martin, Kieran Brooks, Devon DiMichele, Sammy Odell, Shelby Palazzetti, Kaylie Grieger, Justin Wright, Anna Forbes, Amanda Katsch, Annie DiRago, Codi Creegan, Ella Kittredge and Nadia Penella.

Collections of the Show: DiverCity, Traveling Back in Time, After the Ball, Kick Backs, Revival, The Beauty of Nature to the Darkness of Night, Blast from the Past, Coming Undone, Just Wright Fashion, Tailor Made, Electric Current, Pink Dolly’s, Vintage Illusions, The Mix, and Studio 21.

As a freshman witnessing the Fashion Show for the first time, it resembled what I think a “real” fashion show feels and looks like. The atmosphere was definitely “Go, Go, GO!”. People were backstage getting ready, models were practicing on the catwalk, the announcer was practicing her lines… it was amazing to witness! There were cheers and hollers from everyone and all the collections looked incredible. Everything turned out great and the show was spectacular.

Each year the fashion show exceeds the last and takes upon a new and creative theme, only leaving everyone excited for the upcoming year’s show. The SHS Fashion Show really prepares you for how the fashion atmosphere is and how a “real” show conducts itself. This upcoming show can only keep this streak going. Students and families will have to wait and see what incredible collections this year’s designers create and how the Fashion and Textile Arts Club will make the show incredible.
