Brands That Utilize Sustainability
Written by Selma Ruiz
Lately, sustainability in fashion has been on the rise, and many people are wondering how to slow their contribution to the fast fashion industry. Fast fashion can be hard to avoid, especially since they carry the trendiest clothing.
Reformation
Reformation has well made clothing that is made from up-cycled materials. Alongside this, they treat their employees ethically. This brand can be on the pricier side, but for special occasions when you are looking to splurge, Reformation is a great idea.
Levi’s
Levi’s has the world’s best jeans (in my opinion!) and they are super eco-friendly! They use recycle denim, ethically sourced cotton and they treat their workers super well. My personal favorites are the Ribcage Straight Leg jeans. If you are looking for a pair of jeans to last you years, Levi’s is the place to look
Aritzia
Aritzia has been working towards becoming a more ethical brand. They have started to try and use better materials for the environment and they have eliminated their carbon use. They also use vegan leather, which is better for the planet and animals. For everyday luxury clothing and well made basics, try Aritzia.
Thrift
Another great option to shop sustainably is thrifting! You can find so many unique pieces and vintage fashion, for usually fair prices. You can also rework thrift finds to make your own clothes.
