Jeremy Scott is a fashion designer from a small town in Missouri who changed the fashion industry as we know it today. Scott moved to New York in 1992 to pursuit his dream as a designer at Pratt University. He moved to Paris after he finished school with barely any money in search of a job, but didn’t have much luck finding one, so he just started his own line out of any materials he could get his hands on. This is when his career took a turn for the better. By his third collection, he was winning awards, was being recognized by other designers, and the editor of French Vogue. Since then he has collaborated with brands like Adidas, Swatch, and Longchamps.

In 2013 he became the creative director of Moschino, after turning down many other job offers. This was kind of surprising to people because at the time, Moschino was not a haute couture brand and was seen as an outdated brand just worn by older women. He chose to work with this brand because its founder, Franco Moschino, created the brand because he saw fashion as a form of protest, and that’s exactly what Scott saw it as. He became so popular because he was one of the first couture fashion designers that wasn’t afraid to have fun with his collections. For example, his first collection with Moschino in 2014 consisted of things like McDonalds, Spongebob, and junk food.

Jeremy Scott has styled several A-list celebrities such as Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Kanye West, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, ASAP Rocky, Cardi B, and Grimes. He designed Katy Perry’s outfits for the Super Bowl Half Time show in 2015, Rihanna’s outfit in the “We Found Love” music video, Britney Spears’s stewardess dress in the “Toxic” music video, Lady Gaga’s outfit for the “Paparazzi” music video, dresses for Katy Perry and Madonna for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Anna Wintour Costume Center gala in 2015, and outfits for Nicki Minaj and Demi Lovato at the 2016 Met Gala.
